Genuine, Fake and Recovered: 60 years of activity of the Italian Customs Corps protecting culture and art in the Veneto - Ca' Foscari until 7 SeptemberPALAZZO GIUSTINIAN DEI VESCOVI

Organized by the Venetian university in collaboration with the Venetian branch of the customs and revenue police force, the show offers fake archeological finds and historical paintings that have been recovered by the Venice Customs Corps. The exhibition is divided to two sections, on the ground and second floors, respectively, with archeological finds from protected sites – such as Altino, Adria and the Adige watercourse – shown below and a series of forged paintings falsely attributed to a number of grand art masters, specifically from the 20th century, above. The fakes are accompanied by authentic works of art, generously lent by art galleries and foundations.
