Carlo Cardazzo. A New Vision of Art. Extended through 1 March 2009
Carlo Cardazzo.
A New Vision of Art.
Exhibition dedicated to the Venetian patron of the arts, collector, publisher and gallery owner who was one of the leading figures in the history of Italian art, reconstructing his collection which in the 1930s and 1940s was considered to be among the most important 20th-century collections. Beside masterpieces by such artists as Marini, de Chirico, Scipione, Sironi and Campigli, there is a section dedicated to the ties with architect Carlo Scarpa as well as a room with publications of Cavalino with which the gallery owner began his career in 1932.
Beyond offering a historical-artistic overview, the show puts on display masterpieces, documents, various articles, publications and manuscripts in a rounded look, new and surprisingly international, of this fascinating personality.
